NASS data show US table-egg layer inventory rose to 317,299,000 head in August 2026, up from 313,621,000 in July and continuing an uptrend since September 2025. All-layer-types inventory (including broiler and egg-type breeders) totaled 382,801,000 head across 26 states reporting. Frozen-egg cold storage stood at 20,650,000 lb; pullet chick placements dipped to 26,075,700 head.
